My first original project was a simple one—a wall-mounted dart holder. Like most ideas, it started with a problem that needed solving, but I also wanted to make it customisable because that’s something I think customers genuinely value.
It also pulled me back into CAD design and brought back a flood of knowledge from my college days. Before long, I found myself sketching ideas, taking inspiration from the layout of a dartboard, and watching the design gradually come together.
Mounting holes were never in question! The holder is designed around a specific screw size, with matching fixings included so everything works exactly as intended straight out of the box.
Looking back, I probably overthought parts of the design—but I don’t see that as a bad thing. Although the holder looks quite substantial on its own, once mounted it actually sits shallower than a standard dartboard. The darts lean forward slightly for easier access, and with a standard set of darts fitted, the flights sit almost perfectly flush with the face of the dartboard.
It’s those little details that I enjoy thinking about. Most people probably wouldn’t notice them, but I believe it’s that extra thought and attention to detail that helps set my products apart.
The Dart Holder will be one of the first products launching on the NoahPrints store, and I can’t wait to see it on people’s walls.
