Found while scrolling Reddit, a wonderful young man wanting a cosplay piece 3D printed.
Jumping at the opportunity, I managed to get my first customer secured. A lot of information was fed back and forth. After checking sizing with the seller of the .stl my customer brought to me, things needed to be scaled up to better fit.
A lot of effort went into the preparation for this print, different nozzles for different pieces to ensure quality vs rigidity, all of which was explained before sending anything to the printer. A test piece was also performed to demonstrate what quality I will give.
Some faults during printing, a lot of learning! I had the printer calibrated down to a tolerance of +/-0.01mm. Speeds were finely tuned to erase resonance showing in the prints. but there was a lot to learn still with how materials react to various temperatures and speeds, what fan % I needed at certain areas.
And then printing was fully underway! During which, my website was launched, business cards were ordered, packaging ordered, what a rush! The package was shipped, I covered the import fees to ensure a smooth transition through customs, and 6 days later (over a weekend!!!) Milano in the Netherlands had his parcel arrive.
